The scope is tailored to the home, site, and drawings your project needs.
Start with a rough sketch or a list of rooms and priorities. We develop the layout and exterior together, then document the foundation, framing, and details needed to communicate the home to your builder.
For an addition or remodel, understanding what is already there comes first. Existing and proposed plans show how rooms change, where new work connects, and how the exterior fits together—whether you are adding a room or reworking the entire house.
An existing barn starts with a different set of constraints than a new home. We plan living areas, bedrooms, stairs, and openings around the available structure, and identify questions that need input from your builder or an engineer.
The finished set turns the design into dimensions, elevations, sections, and construction details. The sheets included depend on your project and local requirements; we discuss the scope before drafting begins.

Planning Your Project
No. A rough sketch, photos, or a description of what is not working in your current home can start the conversation. We help develop the layout and work through the choices with you.
Timing depends first on when the project can fit into our workflow. Once work begins, a small addition or remodel may take a little over a week, a whole-house remodel around a month, and a custom home roughly four to six weeks or longer. Scope, revisions, and how quickly decisions are made affect the schedule.
Ask your local building department which drawings and supporting documents it requires. We can review that information with you to define the drafting scope and identify any separate survey or engineering needs. Permit approval remains with the local authority.
